Closure and bad weather

In extreme weather conditions, such as heavy snow, it may be necessary to close the academy to pupils. Due to the inconvenience this can cause, we aim to make public any decision by 7:15am on the day the closure is to occur. Our policy is to send a SMS text message to parents to let them know of the closure, but please also check the sources detailed below in case there is a delay in the text being delivered to your handset.

Emneth Academy will post details of a closure in the event of bad weather at the following sources: 

  • Norfolk County Council School Closures
  • KLFM, 96.7FM – In bad weather conditions, school and college closures are announced throughout the morning.
  • BBC Radio Norfolk, 95.1FM, 95.6FM or 104.4FM – In bad weather conditions, school and college closures are announced throughout the morning.
